JONAS BREYER – VITA
Since 2016, I have been working as a lawyer in my own law firm in Wiesbaden and as a certified data protection officer (FFD). In both roles, I focus on advising companies and public bodies on data protection law.
I regularly publish and speak on data protection issues, for example at the German Bar Association (DAV) and the German Association for Data Protection and Data Security (GDD). My events are recognized by the bar associations as further training for IT specialist lawyers within the meaning of the specialist lawyer regulations. I am a member of NOYB – European Center for Digital Rights.
I studied law at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main (Germany).
I then completed my legal clerkship at the Hessian Data Protection Commissioner and at the commercial law firm White & Case LLP.
I further worked as a salaried lawyer in a law firm in Dresden (Germany) and as an in-house lawyer for an insurance company in Wiesbaden (Germany), specializing in commercial and data protection law.
Data protection and IT law support for the German market entry of an international cloud computing provider;
Development of contractual frameworks for the use of various software applications developed by the client for business consulting of winegrowing companies;
Hearing as an expert in the German Bundestag on the draft law to amend the regulations on the disclosure of inventory data (Bundestag printed paper 19/25294);
Data protection support for the development of legally compliant cookie- and consent-free web tracking software for a financial services provider;
Action by a Member of the European Parliament for access to information regarding a research project on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in border controls against an agency of the European Commission before the General Court and the ECJ.
